in the Adirondacks and Schroon Lake

Fishing in the Adirondacks, Schroon Lake, Paradox Lake, and the Schroon River along with numerous other ponds and streams is an angler’s dream. The lakes are just waiting for you to wet a line and to try to catch one of the many species of fish that inhabit our waters. Fishing for Rainbow and Lake Trout, Landlocked Salmon, Small and Large Mouth Bass, Great Northern Pike, Pickerel, and other varieties of fish is an experience and challenge you won’t soon forget!

Schroon Lake offers an extensive hiking trail network - such as the Pharaoh Wilderness, Hoffman Notch Wilderness, and Severance Hill. All of our trails have spectacular views of the region and many trails offer a glance to the High Peaks region. To learn more about our extensive trail network, call our Chamber office to request your free "Trails in the Schroon Lake Region - Official Map and Guide." We have hundreds of miles of back country roads to enjoy a scenic bike ride in the Adirondacks. Spring is also a time to enjoy a scenic mountain drive on your own or take a guided tour to enjoy the rebirth of the Adirondacks.
